The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA), Southern California Region provides education, support, and encouragement to those who are impacted by lupus.
Here is an overview of programs, services, and events that we have offered the community for several years including last year.
Our programs that are available for hundreds of Californians living within the local community to connect with us include:
- Lupus & You – our signature education event offered monthly virtually or in-person across the country to connect patients, families, and friends with the medical community
- Lupus: Mind. Body. Soul. – a virtual health & movement series to help lupus warriors improve their self-care offer twice per month
- Lupus & Lattes – a community chat offered virtually and at local community coffee shops to connect with those who need resources and allow lupus warriors to meet others
- Support Groups – confidential, encouraging meetups lead by trained facilitators that are available nearly each week of the month and allow individuals to share their experiences, make friends, and find credible resources
Our services that are available include:
- Ask A Health Educator – one-to-one assistance at any phase of the lupus journey by our health education specialists.
- SELF – a digital disease management tool called SELF that is customized for each patient’s experience.
- Take Charge – an online email subscription that provides advice, tips, and education for understanding lupus signs & symptoms.
- National Resource Center on Lupus – a one-stop website filled with articles, infographics, videos, and more for anyone who would like to learn about lupus.
- Financial Assistance Resources – a listing dedicated to directing patients to financial support programs.
- Educational materials – for purchase in bulk for patients, caregivers, and health providers
- The Lupus Packet – a free downloadable comprehensive handout on lupus
- The Caregiver Toolkit – a free downloadable workbook for lupus caregivers
